Dredged Material

  • Mack Point, Searsport (May 2001) - Beneficial use of 22,600 cubic yards of dredged material as construction fill.  An additional 50,400 cubic yards were to be disposed of at the Rockland Disposal site (offshore).

  • Arundel Warf, Kennebunkport (March 2002) - Beneficial use of 350 cubic yards of dredged material as construction fill.

  • Maine DOT, Addison (August 2002) Beneficial use of 100-150 cubic yards of dredged material as construction fill.

  • Yankee Marina, Yarmouth (October 2002) - Beneficial use of between 1,000 and 3,000 cubic yards per year. Applicants project between 10,000 and 30,000 cubic yards total over a period of 10 years.

  • Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (November 2001) - Temporary (2-year) storage of 35,000 cubic yards of dredged material to be used in contouring a landfill before capping as part of another DEP project.

This information has been gathered as part of an effort to determine how much non-municipal solid waste material is generated and reused in Maine.
